A Home Away From Homelessness was an “impulse of the heart” that has grown into a non-profit organization that nurtures and supports the needs of homeless and formerly homeless children and families in San Francisco and Marin. Located in Fort Mason and Marin Headlands areas—four “homes” provide a physical, emotional and spiritual break for children living in dire situations. Under the direction of Founder and Director, Jeanie Kortum, Home Away from Homelessness has received the 2006 Silver SPUR Award from the San Francisco Planning and Urban Research Association.
I honestly can not wait to get started and feel like I am making a difference in someone's life and who knows this could help me get some m ore ideas of how this can be stopped and controlled. I also wish to work not only in non-profitable organizations but in government run one's too of course I would not get paid for either of them, but I wish to see if there is a difference in between the two.
